Job summary

The Advanced Practice Mental Health Clinician at Boynton Health (University of Minnesota) provides comprehensive psychiatric and mental health care to a diverse student population. You will perform evaluations, manage medications, provide crisis intervention, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to support student wellbeing and academic success.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree plus at least 4 years of experience, or Terminal degree plus at least 1 year of experience.
• Licensed Physician Assistant (PA) with psychiatric/mental health experience OR Licensed Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with mental health specialization OR current Minnesota licensure.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat a broad range of mental health conditions including anxiety, depression, trauma-related disorders, ADHD, eating disorders, and substance use concerns.
• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, including medical histories and risk assessments.
• Develop culturally responsive care plans considering psychological, emotional, social, physical, cultural, and environmental factors.
• Provide supportive psychotherapy when appropriate and urgent psychiatric evaluations as needed.
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications in line with licensure and Boynton Health guidelines.
• Coordinate care with internal and external providers to ensure continuity of care.
