Job summary

State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) is seeking an Associate for Academic Affairs to support academic matters at public colleges and universities. The role focuses on degree-program productivity, enrollment, and completion metrics as defined by the SCHEV Council’s policy.

Qualifications

  • Recent experience in/with academic matters in higher education.
  • Demonstrated experience in effectively planning, producing, and implementing project goals and objectives.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with multiple constituencies; communicate effectively in writing and speaking.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day management of the degree-program productivity/viability review process.
  • Serve as the lead contact for public colleges and universities regarding degree-program productivity matters.
  • Coordinate with the Director of Academic Affairs and Strategic Planning on ensuring that the review process meets progress markers and informs SCHEV Council and institutions.
  • Assist the Associate Director for Academic Programs and Instructional Sites, and other staff, with academic matters in public higher education.
  • Advance the goals and strategies of the statewide strategic plan for higher education and related initiatives of the SCHEV Council.
  • Perform other duties within and potentially outside Academic Affairs as assigned.
