Job summary

Denver Health’s Neurology Division invites applications for a full-time Academic Neurologist to provide comprehensive general neurology care in both outpatient and inpatient settings. The role includes teaching residents and medical students, supervising inpatient consults, and contributing to the academic mission of the Department of Neurology affiliated with the University of Colorado School of Medicine.

The successful candidate will hold an MD or DO, be board-certified or eligible in

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree.
• American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology certification or eligibility in Neurology.
• Eligibility for physician licensure in Colorado with an active unrestricted license prior to start.
• Competence in comprehensive general neurology including acute stroke management.
• Interest and ability in supervising and teaching residents, medical students, and other learners.
• Basic EEG interpretation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive general neurology care in outpatient and inpatient settings.
• Participate in emergency management of acute stroke.
• Supervise and teach neurology residents, medical students, and other learners.
• Provide supervision for neurology residents covering inpatient consult service, with nighttime supervision typically by phone.
• Contribute to teaching and scholarship within the Department of Neurology.
• Receive a faculty appointment in the University of Colorado School of Medicine with rank based on qualifications and experience.
