Job summary

The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) seeks full-time academic nephrology faculty to practice within the Division of Nephrology. These faculty opportunities emphasize high-quality clinical care, active participation in teaching, and engagement in UTMB’s academic mission. Successful candidates will join the John Sealy School of Medicine and a team dedicated to outstanding nephrology care, clinical education, scholarly activity, and continued program growth.

Opportunity Highlights

• Join a growing academic division with 15 faculty, 7 APPs and 5 fellows, dedicated to excellence in patient care, education, and research.
• Practice across UTMB’s four campuses: Galveston, League City, Clear Lake, and Angleton Danbury.
• Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient nephrology care, including management of chronic kidney disease, dialysis, kidney transplantation, and related kidney conditions.
• Teach and supervise medical students, residents, and fellows in both clinical and didactic settings.
• Participate in UTMB’s Nephrology Fellowship Program and Interventional Nephrology Fellowship Program, supporting the development of future leaders in kidney care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in internal medicine, critical care, surgery, and other specialties to optimize patient outcomes and care coordination.
• Engage in quality improvement, patient safety, evidence-based practice initiatives, curriculum development, clinical training, and academic programming.
• Contribute to translational and clinical research efforts focused on improving outcomes for patients with chronic kidney disease and transplant recipients.
• Develop an academic niche within a collaborative division that supports innovation, mentorship, and scholarly activity.
