Job summary

Dell Medical School at UT Austin is recruiting a full-time academic neurologist specializing in movement disorders. The candidate will build a comprehensive movement disorders program, diagnose and treat patients, and contribute to education and research.

The ideal physician will have board certification in neurology, a movement disorders fellowship, and the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams while developing a regional referral center with national impact.

Qualifications

  • Current Board certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
  • Fellowship training with a concentration on movement disorders.
  • Unrestricted license to practice medicine in Texas (or ability to obtain prior to appointment).
  • Excellent teaching and collaborative research in an academic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a clinical content expert on adult movement disorders for Dell Medical School.
  • Participate in strategic planning and growth of a new comprehensive movement disorders program and clinic.
  • Develop partnerships with referring physicians, hospitals, and ancillary providers in Austin and Central Texas.
  • Assist in creating data and evaluation infrastructure for assessing clinical quality and cost outcomes.
  • Develop and implement curricula related to evaluation and management of general neurology with a focus on movement disorders.
  • Train and mentor medical students and residents on new models of care and clinical practice.
  • Foster an atmosphere of scientific and academic inquiry within the multidisciplinary team.
  • Collaborate with other UT Austin schools on value-based care models.
