Job summary

Albany Medical College's Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine seeks a board-certified AP or AP/CP pathologist to participate in clinical services of Gynecological and/or Genitourinary pathology in an academic setting. Fellowship training in the respective field is desirable, but not required, preferably with a second area of interest in AP.

The role emphasizes collegial work culture, mentorship and opportunities for translational research and medical student teaching.

Qualifications

• AP or AP/CP board-certified in pathology.
• Fellowship training in Gynecologic or Genitourinary pathology desirable but not required.
• Second area of interest in AP preferred.

Responsibilities

• GYN and/or GU pathology sign out.
• Shared AP call and non-forensic autopsy coverage (Average less 4 autopsies/pathologist/year).
• Teaching activities include one-on-one and group sign-out with residents and students, didactic lectures, unknown slide conference and presentations.
• Activities in translational research and medical student teaching can be tailored according to department needs.
