Job summary

City of Hope in Duarte, California, seeks an Academic Gastrointestinal Pathologist to join our clinical faculty and lead GI diagnostic service across a wide range of GI and related hepatobiliary diseases.

The successful candidate will be fellowship-trained in GI Pathology, cover at least one additional surgical pathology subspecialty, engage in translational research, education, and mentorship, and participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and on-call duties.

Qualifications

• MD, DO, or equivalent medical degree and eligibility for California medical license.
• Fellowship training in Gastrointestinal Pathology is required.
• Board certification in Anatomic Pathology by the American Board of Pathology is required.
• Experience diagnosing GI/pancreaticobiliary/hepatobiliary malignancies in an academic center is highly desirable.
• Willingness to cover at least one additional surgical pathology subspecialty.

Responsibilities

• Provide diagnostic service in Gastrointestinal Pathology across the GI tract and related organs.
• Participate in at least one additional surgical pathology subspecialty.
• Engage in translational and clinical research, teaching, and mentorship.
• Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and disease-focused conferences.
• Provide intraoperative consultations, on-call coverage, and autopsy duties.
