Job summary

Duke University Health System's Department of Emergency Medicine in Durham is recruiting a full-time faculty physician to join our academic emergency medicine team at Duke University Hospital. Ideal candidates will have an MD or equivalent medical degree and will be board certified or board eligible in Emergency Medicine.

Qualifications

• Experience in high-acuity emergency or academic medicine is preferred.
• Interest or experience in an area of academic focus (e.g., research, medical education, health equity, administration, quality improvement) preferred.
• Provide comprehensive emergency medical assessment, stabilization, and disposition for adult patients in a high-volume ED.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and teach residents and learners from Duke School of Medicine and Duke Physician Assistant Program.
• Collaborate with advanced practice providers to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Manage a wide range of critical conditions including trauma and undifferentiated high-risk presentations.
• Partner with multidisciplinary specialty teams to deliver coordinated care.
• Develop and sustain an area of scholarly focus aligned with promotion criteria.
