Baylor College of Medicine is located in the world’s largest medical center in Houston. The Henry JN Taub Department of Emergency Medicine was established in Jan 2017. Our residency program, which started in 2010, has grown to 16 residents per year in a 3-year format. Our department features clinical practices at Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center, Ben Taub General Hospital and Texas Children’s Hospital. Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center is a quaternary referral center with high acuity patients and is home to the Texas Heart Institute and multiple transplant programs. Ben Taub General Hospital is a public hospital with about 80,000 annual emergency visits each year and certified stroke, STEMI and Level 1 trauma programs. Texas Children’s Hospital is consistently ranked as one of the nation’s best, largest and most comprehensive specialty care pediatric hospitals. These affiliations, along with the medical school’s preeminence in education and research, help to create one of the strongest Emergency Medicine experiences in the country.
