San Joaquin Valley College Inc. seeks a Campus Academic Dean to supervise program directors and faculty, ensuring the delivery of high-quality academic outcomes on campus.
The role reports to the Campus Director and focuses on managing and promoting a productive academic environment, supporting faculty with developing and delivering outcomes, and coordinating curriculum oversight and student success initiatives.
Summary: The Campus Academic Dean is under the direct supervision of the Campus Director. The role is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the educational programs through managing and promoting a productive academic environment. This role is responsible for the academic oversight of both program directors and faculty on the campus by supporting the faculty with developing, implementing, and delivering academic outcomes for the campus.
Compensation: The starting pay range for this position is $80,000-$90,000 annually.
Supervises Program Directors, Faculty and Academic Administrative Staff. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education and/or Experience – Minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required. Master’s degree preferred. Degree(s) must be from institutions accredited by recognized U.S. accrediting agencies and or degrees from non-U.S. institutions are recognized only if equivalence has been established and provided. Minimum of 5 years of administrative experience preferably in an educational institution.
Language Skills – Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, and policy and procedure handbooks; ability to write routine reports and correspondence; ability to speak effectively before groups of employees or students of the campus.
Mathematical Skills – Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measurement, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability – Ability to use common sense in all situations; ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Computer Skills – To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, Access and Outlook and experience with Student Information Systems, and LMS.
