Job summary

UVA Health seeks an Open Rank faculty member in Classical Hematology/Oncology to expand outpatient non-malignant hematology care and participate in inpatient consultation. The role includes medical student and trainee education, plus opportunities for clinical or translational research within a leading academic health system.

Candidates must have an MD or equivalent, be board certified/eligible in Hematology, with Internal Medicine certification encouraged.

Qualifications

• MD or equivalent degree and board certified/eligible in Hematology.
• Board certification in Internal Medicine encouraged.
• Strong interest in academic medicine with research or medical education.
• Excellent clinical skills in classical (non-malignant) hematology; translation encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient care for non-malignant hematologic diseases.
• Attend inpatient hematology consult service as needed.
• Educate and evaluate medical students, residents, fellows, and practitioners.
• Engage in clinical and translational research opportunities.
