Job summary

CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center – Bergan Mercy in Omaha is seeking a Cardiac Anesthesiologist to join a team of 23 anesthesiologists and 27 CRNAs. Fellowship-trained candidates will care for a high-acuity cardiac population and support a growing structural heart program in a Level I Trauma Center.

You will perform intraoperative TEE, collaborate with surgeons, cardiologists, and intensivists, and mentor residents and CRNAs.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required.
• ACGME-accredited Anesthesiology Residency completed.
• Fellowship in Cardiac Anesthesiology.
• Board certified or board eligible in Anesthesiology.
• Advanced perioperative TEE certification (or eligible).
• Eligible for medical licensure in Nebraska.

Responsibilities

• Provide anesthetic care for adult cardiac surgical cases (CABG, valve, structural heart interventions).
• Perform intraoperative transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) and interpret results.
• Collaborate with cardiac surgeons, cardiologists, intensivists, and teams across specialties.
• Supervise and mentor CRNAs, residents, and medical students.
• Engage in teaching, research, and quality improvement; contribute to residency program development.
