Job summary

The University of Washington invites applications for a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide patient care at the Fred Hutch Cancer Center (FHCC) Campus. This Teaching Associate role supports research, teaching, and service within an inclusive academic community.

The position carries a faculty appointment at Teaching Associate level with a start date in early 2027 and a 12-month service period.

Qualifications

• Current and valid WA State RN licensure for ARNP or PA-C.
• Graduate degree from an accredited NP or PA program.
• National certification as ARNP/PA and eligible for DEA.
• Proven excellence working in an interdisciplinary collaborative team environment.
• Effective interpersonal and leadership skills with strong written and spoken English.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with EHR systems; basic tech literacy.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with surgery attendings and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, effective and timely treatment.
• Performs comprehensive H&Ps and evaluates pre-/post-operative patients.
• Evaluates and manages treatment toxicities, treats perioperative issues and monitors for progression or recurrence.
• Coordinates care across inpatient and outpatient settings under supervision of a physician.
• Provides patient, caregiver and peer education and support as needed.
• Participates in rounds, conferences and service committees; supports teaching responsibilities.
