Applicants should have a strong track record and interest in academic excellence, teaching, and research.

The successful candidate should have a track record and interest in grant‑sponsored funded research and scientific publications. The Division will include ten full‑time IR faculty physicians, ACGME‑accredited integrated and independent IR residencies, and three full‑time IR nurse practitioners. Our Baltimore IR practice is out of three hospitals including the University of Maryland Medical Center and a freestanding outpatient IR clinic. The range of procedures offered is broad, including but not limited to vascular interventions, full scope of oncologic interventions, advanced body interventions, pain/MSK interventions, and men’s/women’s health interventions. Interest and effort in programmatic development are expected. Interest in AI, VR, and robotics in interventions is desired.

The five state‑of‑the‑art suites at the University include three dedicated body interventional suites; two Siemens Zeego units, and a Canon Hybrid Angio/CT suite, along with two additional Bi‑plane Siemens suites that are shared. The Division maintains a dedicated IR research coordinator and leads scientific discoveries with numerous externally sponsored research projects and clinical trials. The department includes renowned imaging researchers with fully‑equipped high‑end imaging basic science laboratories in the HSF3 building across the hospital and HIFU research/clinical unit. Multi‑disciplinary research collaborations across the UMB, UM College Park, and with our basic science faculty are highly encouraged.

Research and academic productivity are expected for this position. The educational program includes dedicated teaching of medical students and residents.
