Job summary

Indiana University Health Physicians at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN seeks a patient-centered General Anesthesiologist to join their team. This full-time role combines inpatient and outpatient duties with opportunities for involvement in teaching, education, and potentially research.

Qualified candidates will have residency in Anesthesiology, be board eligible or board certified, and hold Indiana licensure or be eligible for licensure.

Qualifications

• Residency in Anesthesiology completed or in progress.
• Board certification or eligibility in Anesthesiology required or planned.
• Indiana medical license or eligibility for licensure required.

Responsibilities

• Provide General Anesthesiology services in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Participate in student, resident and fellow training with potential faculty appointment.
• Contribute to clinical care, education and/or research within IU Health Methodist Hospital.

With 1,000 beds, IU Health Methodist Hospital is a large tertiary referral center with over 130 ICU beds. It serves as the largest trauma center in Indianapolis, as well as a highly subspecialized center for cardiovascular surgery, thoracic surgery, neurosurgery, lung transplantation, and neurocritical care.

IU Health is building a new downtown hospital and campus, which will consolidate operations of the adjacent IU Health Methodist and University Hospitals. Construction for the new hospital is well underway and set to open in late 2027. It will feature three 16-story towers with 864 beds. IU School of Medicine is also constructing a medical education and research building directly east of the new hospital.
