Job summary

Indian Hills Community College is seeking a program coordinator for the UB/Upward Bound and EOC outreach at Centerville High School and in the Centerville community. Under the supervision of the Program Directors, you will coordinate services and provide direct support to UB participants.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, sociology, human services, or closely related field.
• Minimum of one year teaching, advising and/or counseling experience with high school or college age students.
• Computer proficiency (hardware and software) with excellent communication and supervisory skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with recruitment of UB and EOC participants.
• Plan, implement, and facilitate activities that support project objectives and meet federal guidelines.
• Assist participants with college and financial aid applications.
• Provide academic advice and assistance in course selection.
• Assist participants in re-enrolling in high school or completing programs.
• Provide personal, career, and academic advising to improve choices and outcomes.
• Prepare UB participants for college entrance examinations.
• Conduct outreach to the Centerville community about the college process.
• Make referrals to college/university offices to aid enrollment.
• Collect and maintain participant files and document services delivered.
• Assist with program assessment and federal reporting.
• Hire, train, and supervise the College Mentors and academic teachers during the 6-week UB residential summer program.
• Plan and implement a 6-week residential summer program and out of state summer trip.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Under the supervision of the Program Director, Talent Search/Upward Bound and Program Director, Student Support Services/Educational Opportunity Center is responsible for overall coordination and direct provision of services to UB participants at Centerville High School and providing EOC Outreach to youth and adults in the Centerville community.
