Job Summary

The University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) invites applications for an Academic Advisor 2 with the Orvis School of Nursing (OSN). This position plays a key role in supporting student success through academic advising, admissions, recruitment, retention initiatives, and student‑centered programming.

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive advising to undergraduate nursing students, including academic planning, course scheduling, progression requirements, and degree completion.
  • Offer guidance on admission to and success within nursing programs and serve as a primary resource on nursing program requirements, university policies, and student support services.
  • Support the admissions process by reviewing applications, assisting prospective students, and providing guidance throughout the application process.
  • Develop targeted advising and intervention strategies to promote student retention and success.
  • Participate in recruitment and outreach activities to attract and retain students.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff on student success initiatives.
  • Build relationships with community partners to promote nursing education.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree and at least two years of related work experience, or a Master’s Degree and at least two years of related work experience.
  • Related experience in academic advising, teaching, student services, or related fields.
