Qualifications

• MD/DO degree with graduation from an ACGME-approved residency program and experience in acute perioperative pain management and regional anesthesia or completion of a Pain Medicine fellowship.
• ABA board certification or eligibility.
• Experience teaching medical students and/or residents and fellows.

Responsibilities

• Manage acute perioperative pain across a broad range of surgical services at UC Davis Medical Center with focus on multimodal analgesia.
• Participate in the Acute Pain Service call schedule and develop individualized pain plans.
• Perform regional anesthesia techniques such as ultrasound-guided peripheral nerve blocks and neuraxial procedures.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize recovery, reduce opioid use, and improve patient outcomes.
• Engage in clinical education of medical students, residents, and fellows; contribute to scholarly activities and service as per rank.
