Job summary

Bentonville Schools is seeking a Group Teacher for the Adventure Club within the Child Enrichment Services program. You will create a fun, safe, and educational after-school environment for children in the Bentonville School District.

You will plan weekly lessons, use routines to build relationships, guide behavior with Conscious Discipline, and collaborate with families and staff to support each child’s growth.

Qualifications

• 18 years or older with a high school diploma or GED.

• Maintain a clean, organized, inviting environment that is safe and developmentally appropriate.
• Plan and implement a variety of engaging learning experiences through weekly lesson plans, including STEM projects.
• Use the outdoors as part of the learning environment.
• Teach and provide guidance for healthy habits.
• Plan a daily schedule that meets individual needs.
• Accept responsibility for shared space.
• Ensure materials are rotated and sanitized and recalls are posted for parents.
• Maintain youth portfolios and update weekly.
• Implement Program Quality Assessment standards.
• Meet attendance requirements and clock in/out timely.
• Maintain professional appearance and dress code.
• Be open to new ideas and take initiative.
• Complete all record keeping and documentation obligations.
• Attend staff meetings and pursue professional development.

Professional Responsibilities

• Meets program attendance requirements as outlined in the personnel handbook.
• Submits time off and clocks in/out at assigned time in Frontline. Is punctual.
• Maintains professional appearance following program dress code.
• Open to new ideas and suggestions for working with children and take initiative.
• Accepts responsibility for job-related tasks, including documentation and all record keeping.
• Meets program expectations regarding job performance as outlined in the personnel handbook.
• Meets program expectations for professional developments as outlined in the personnel handbook.
• Attends all staff meetings and meets program expectations for professional development.
• Knows and follows emergency and risk management procedures.
• Keeps site supervisor apprised of individual youth and group’s status.
• Completes all Better Beginnings requirements.
• Accepts all assignments given by supervisors.
• Maintains all program requirements: minimum licensing, program policies and Program Quality Assessment expectations.
• Completes yearly self-evaluation.
• Use good judgment and keep information confidential.

Interactions with Parents and Staff
