Job summary

ABRA Body Shop is seeking a full-time Body Shop Technician in Asheville, NC to identify, repair, and test vehicles within a large facility including Quicklane, Service, Sales, and Body Shop units.

Preferred candidates have welding, suspension, and framing experience; ASE certifications or equivalent; valid driver's license. The role offers a 4-day work week, comprehensive health insurance, and growth within the shop.

Qualifications

• Experience in welding, suspension and framing; willing to learn/train.
• ASE Certification or equivalent experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Identify and resolve parts required for repair; review repair orders; follow warranty guidelines; notify supervisor of any repair add-ons
• Adjust, replace, and repair all series of vehicles (sheet metal, panels, welding, alignment, electrical/mechanical repairs)
• Road test vehicles when necessary to ensure quality repair
• Maintain current knowledge of job and technical skills including manufacturer repair processes
• Perform work as outlined on repair estimates with efficiency and accuracy to dealership and factory standards
• Teardown and inspect for additional or hidden repairs
• Advise body shop estimator of additional damage or needs or if repairs will not be completed on time
• Lead work of any apprentice technicians and maintain ASE certifications

The ABRA Body Shop is located at Asheville Ford. We are a Certified shop for Ford, Subaru and Tesla. We have tons of work!

At ABRA, we are looking for a full-time Body Shop Technician. We are a large facility that includes a Quicklane, Service, Sales Department and Body Shop. We are locally owned and operated and have partnerships with many local charities and community organizations.

• Identify and resolve parts required for repair; review repair orders, work order, and Body Shop Managers estimate notes; follow warranty guidelines; notify supervisor of any repair add-ons
• Adjust, replace, and repair all series of vehicles (e.g., sheet metal repairs, fiberglass/ panel repairs, fabrication and structural welding, installation and alignment ofbody components, electrical and mechanical repairs, etc.)
• Road test vehicles when necessary to ensure quality repair
• Maintain current knowledge of job and technical skills including truck manufacturer’s repair process
• Perform work as outlined on repair estimates with efficiency and accuracy in accordance with dealership and factory standards
• Teardown and inspect for additional or hidden repairs
• Advise body shop estimator of additional damage or supplemental needs or if repairs will not be completed on time
• Lead work of any apprentice technicians and maintain ASE certifications

Qualifications

• Welding, suspension, framework experience a plus OR willing to learn/train
• ASE Certifications; Damage Analysis and Estimating, Mechanical and Electrical Components, Non-Structural Analysis and Damage Repair and State Vehicle Inspector (preferred)
• Certifications listed above or equivalent experience and eagerness to improve
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
