Job summary

Catholic Charities, Diocese of Metuchen (CCDOM), a non-profit social services agency with over 450 employees, seeks a Teacher Assistant for an Abbott preschool classroom in Perth Amboy, NJ.

You will support the Center Director and Head Teacher, follow the schedule and curriculum, and help ensure the safety and well-being of children while maintaining required paperwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required; 10–60 credits, Para Praxis, HS diploma.
• Bilingual preferred.
• Experience with preschool children in Abbott district.

Responsibilities

• Work directly in an Abbott preschool classroom under the Center Director and Head Teacher.
• Follow the daily schedule and mandated curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of Center Director and Head Teacher, the Teacher Assistant will work directly in an Abbott preschool classroom.
• Follow the daily schedule, work in conjunction with the Head Teacher and follow the mandated curriculum.
• Requires good judgement, ensuring the safety and well‑being of children, following licensing standards, and maintaining required documentation/paperwork as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree, 10-60 credits, Para Praxis, HS diploma.
• Bilingual preferred.
• Experience working with preschool children in an Abbott district at minimum.
