Job summary

Northeast Arc in Methuen, MA area is seeking a Behavior Therapist to provide home and community-based ABA services for children with ASD or related conditions. The role involves working with families, BCBA guidance, and natural environment interactions to promote meaningful skills.

Full-time or part-time, Monday–Friday, focusing on safety, data collection, and family training. A degree in psychology or related field is required, with RBT allowed as a substitute; valid driver's license is needed.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in psychology, early childhood education, or a related field required
• RBT certification may substitute for the education requirement

Responsibilities

• Provide home and community-based support to individuals using evidence-based ABA approach
• Work directly with individuals and their families in the natural environment to improve socially significant behaviors across all areas, including communication, daily living skills, social skills, and adaptive behavior
• Teach goals and skills outlined in the treatment plans and implement behavior strategies developed by the BCBA (clinical supervisor)
• Attend and contribute to clinical and non-clinical meetings, trainings, and individual supervisions
• Complete required session notes and data and any additional non-clinical paperwork
• Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of clients
• Support school consultations and parent training as needed

Target Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 hourly

Job Summary

Northeast Arc's Building Blocks and Building Bridges program are grounded in the belief that every child deserves the opportunity to grow, connect, and thrive. Building Blocks and Building Bridges BT's provide individualized ABA services to children, ages 15 months to 12 years of age, diagnosed with ASD or Downs Syndrome and their families. Our Behavior Therapists work in a team atmosphere alongside BCBAs, Early Intervention staff, families and caregivers. Our programs facilitate interactions through Natural Environment Training and capitalize on natural opportunities for engagement with our kids using an evidence-based approach.

  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification may substitute for the education requirement
• Must have strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, along with excellent organizational skills and flexibility
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
• Reliable, able to maintain confidentiality, and demonstrate a high degree of professionalism
• Valid driver's license and personal vehicle required
• Ability to drive, walk, stand, and climb stairs in an office and a variety of community-based and home-based settings
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs
• Must successfully complete and pass all required background checks as a condition of employment
