Job summary

Pediatrics Plus is seeking ABA Fieldwork Students to join a collaborative pediatric team dedicated to empowering children with special needs. The program offers on-site and remote mentoring, a comprehensive fieldwork pathway, and paid training with development opportunities.

Responsibilities include assisting BCBA-supervised tasks, preparing session materials, and helping implement treatment plans while maintaining HIPAA compliance and a safe learning environment.

Qualifications

  • Enrollment in ABA Graduate Program (minimum).
  • Complete 40 hours of paid training within 90 days.
  • Pass the RBT competency assessment and RBT exam.
  • Pass a criminal background check and drug screen.

  • Work directly under the supervision of the BCBA.
  • Assist in implementing the treatment plan developed with BCBA and therapists.
  • Assist in observational assessments with the BCBA.
  • Prepare materials for sessions as needed.

What you will do:

ABA Fieldwork Students should expect a comprehensive fieldwork program focusing on both theoretical and practical skills of the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) position.

Monthly knowledge checks to review BCBA Task List content.
Monthly assignments targeting clinical application of BCBA Task List content.
On-site and remote mentoring provided by supervising BCBA.

Clinical applications of task list content while on-site to increase competence in BCBA job duties.

The ABA Fieldwork Student will also be responsible for assuming the role of a BT/RBT. This role is responsible for the direct implementation of behavior analytic services under the close supervision of the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). The BT/RBT does not design intervention or assessment plans. The supervising BCBA determines and assigns tasks for the BT/RBT to perform as a function of higher training, experience, and competency levels.

  • Work directly under the supervision of the BCBA
  • Help implement the treatment plan developed by the BCBA, parents, and therapists
  • Assist in observational assessments with the BCBA
  • Prepare materials as needed for sessions
  • Implement appropriate teaching procedures determined by supervising BCBA
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance, child/employee confidentiality
  • Maintain visual supervision of the child at all times; NEVER leaving a child unattended
  • Represent the program to parents, visitors, and the public in a positive way
  • Maintain a clean, safe, healthy, and sanitary learning environment
  • Work with supervisor to develop high level of behavior analytic expertise and grow in practice and performance

Minimum Requirements:

  • Enrollment in ABA Graduate Program
  • Complete 40 hours of paid training by supervising BCBA- must be completed within 90 day period once hired
  • Pass the RBT competency assessment conducted by supervising BCBA
  • Pass the RBT exam through BACB to become a Registered Behavior Technician
  • Pass a criminal background check and drug screen

Annual Requirements:

  • Pass the RBT competency assessment conducted by supervising BCBA
  • Complete annual renewal through BACB
  • Receive ongoing supervision and comply with BACB’s ethics requirements

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to walk, sit, use hands and fingers to handle, lift, feel, and reach. The employee is frequently required to stand and stoop, twist, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include near and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to maintain regular and punctual attendance. The employee is required to complete tasks in a timely manner.
