Job summary

UTLX, part of Marmon Holdings, seeks General Labor/Machine Operator personnel in Ville Platte, LA. You will assemble basic components, operate at a workbench or conveyer line, and perform routine maintenance and cleaning.

Safety rules must be followed, with attention to gauges, meters, and calibration checks. The role requires 0–2 years of experience, a willingness to work different shifts, and the ability to work both in a team and independently under supervision.

• Eligibility requires a high school diploma or GED and basic reading of gauges and measuring devices.
• Ability to work well in a team and also independently with minimal supervision.

Not all classifications will be required to perform all job functions.· Reviews cleaning and testing procedures prior to performing prescribed work and prior to entering the tank car. Must learn and adhere to confined space entry procedures and all other safety rules.· Checks calibration equipment to ensure accurate readings of LEL oxygen content meters, pH meters, and Dreager meters.· Connects high-pressure air, steam, and water hoses, and operates cleaning rack equipment and performs manual cleanout of tank interior as required.· Operates testing equipment to monitor cleaning operation of the system.· Ensures that cleaning procedures and equipment conform to company and EPA standards.· Maintains work area in a neat and orderly manner and reports potential hazards.Eligibility Requirements· Must have a high school diploma, GED, or pass a Combined Basic Skills Test· Demonstrate job related computational knowledge or demonstrate who to read gauges, rulers, and other applicable measuring devices.· Must be able to work effectively and efficiently both as a member of a team and independently· Able to follow written and/or verbal instructions with minimal supervision· Ability to read, interpret, and follow documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and assembly instructions· Safety and quality focused· Willingness to wear required PPE at all times and always work safely.· Be available to work any shift, and be dependable and reliable to show up for scheduled work shifts including overtime, as allowed per the union contractEnvironmental & Working Conditions· Moderate to heavy physical effort involved. Lifts and carries necessary equipment to car to perform operation.
