Job summary

Allegiant Air is seeking an A-320 Ground/Simulator Instructor to train pilots using classroom, flight training devices, and simulators for initial, transition, upgrade, and recurrent programs in accordance with Allegiant policies and FAA regulations.

The role requires a combination of education and hands-on experience, with a background as an instructor/check pilot or PIC/SIC in the A-320 family. Passport and driver's license must be current, and a background check is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Combination of Education and Experience will be considered.
• Must be authorized to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986.
• Must pass a Criminal Background Check.
• Education: High School Diploma/GED.
• Years of Experience: Minimum one (1) year as an instructor/check pilot or as a PIC or SIC in the A-320 series.
• Valid/Unexpired Passport Book: Yes
• Valid/Unexpired Driver's License: Yes
• Served for at least one year as an instructor/check pilot or as a PIC or SIC in an airplane of the same group.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate initial, transition, upgrade and recurrent training, including A-320 systems, Allegiant Air policies and procedures, applicable FAA Regulations and Emergency training.
• Prepare students for flight evaluations by providing high quality training and effective feedback.
• Conduct training tasks including lesson planning, classroom and simulator set-up, upkeep of current aviation publications and instructional training materials.
• Maintain record of all training activities, participants and results.
• Assist department managers as required for special projects.
• Assist in course design and development.
• Work closely with the A-320 Fleet Training Captain to identify and resolve issues with training.
• Model Allegiant’s customer service standards in personal actions and when providing leadership direction.
• Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Requirements

• ATP with a A-320 Type rating.
• Successfully complete and retain Allegiant Air’s PIC Training/Qualification on the A-320 and required recurrent training and qualification.

Office - While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, see, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, key board, printer, and phone. May be required to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 20 lbs. May be required to work various shifts/days in a 24-hour situation. Regular attendance is a requirement of the role. Exposure to moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phones, printers, and foot traffic), temperature and light fluctuations. Ability to work in a confined area as well as the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time. Some travel may be a requirement of the role.
