The Computing Solutions Department is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to develop next‑generation product line solutions in Cedar Rapids, IA.
What You Will Do
- Create comprehensive plans, requirements, architecture definition, verification and validation, and detailed design documentation for next‑generation avionic electronic systems.
- Develop requirements for a highly integrated DAL A computing system in accordance with industry guidance (ARP4754B) and program plans.
- Drive product architecture discussions, focusing on designing systems that are both effective and certifiable.
- Collaborate closely with Hardware, Software, Safety and Security teams.
- Participate in 10% travel as needed.
Qualifications
- Degree in STEM and minimum 8 years relevant experience, or an advanced degree with minimum 5 years experience.
- Experience with safety‑critical system, hardware or software development (e.g., DO‑178C, DO‑254, or ARP4754A/B).
- Experience authoring and validating requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with avionics equipment certification processes.
- Experience working with stakeholders to generate concepts of operations and use cases.
- Experience authoring in‑depth technical documents.
- Experience working with and testing embedded hardware and software.
- Experience developing automated tests utilizing scripting.
- Excellent communication skills for internal and external customers.
- Adaptability to change, determination to accomplish tasks based on program schedule, collaboration, ability to learn new technologies and self‑motivation.
