Airbus US Manufacturing Facility A220 is looking for an Aircraft Cabins/Interiors Installer (Contract) to join our Manufacturing Department based in Mobile, AL.

Position Details:

  • Location: Mobile, AL

Role Overview

The Aircraft Cabins/Interiors Installer is a critical part of the aircraft assembly process. The role requires prior knowledge of aircraft cabin assembly and the skill to complete tasks on quality and timing. Success in this position demands high integrity, clear communication, flexibility, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a high‑pressure environment to deliver a high‑quality aircraft on time (TAKT).

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Understand the Qualification process and become a Production Verification (PV) stamp holder within the first 12 months on Station.
  • Understand the build process and specifications within your allocated Cabin Station.
  • Coordinate with other team members to ensure the delivery schedule is met.
  • Work in compliance with production work orders and supporting documents (e.g., quality standards, drawings, and SOIs).
  • Step in for Team Leader to drive the team on plan.
  • Understand Work Content Tracker (SLB) and work allocation process.
  • Use Andon tool for issues requiring support.
  • Communicate with MFT support members when support is required.
Required Qualification
  • Minimum 2 years experience in Aviation Production or equivalent (MRO, Flight line, Military, Corporate).
  • Minimum 2 years experience working with Aircraft Cabins/Interiors.
  • Ability to read and understand technical aircraft drawings and visually aided work orders.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or an equivalent combination of training/experience.
Preferred Qualification
  • Minimum 5 years experience in Aviation Production or equivalent.
  • Previous Cabin/Interior experience.
  • Previous Lavatory/Galley experience.
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant Certification.
  • EASA Part‑66 Equivalent.
Physical Requirements
  • Vision: Adequate to enter and read material on computer screens; identify markings and digital outputs.
  • Hearing: Able to hear safely in office settings and safety alerts.
  • Speaking: Engage in conversations in person and electronically.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate hydraulic lifts and arms.
  • Carrying: Occasionally carry up to 20 lbs (9 kg).
  • Confined Space: Enter passages 12" x 22" and 9.7" x 17.7" openings; respirator use.
  • Heights: Work at approximately 40 ft on platforms and lifts.
  • Lifting: Occasionally lift up to 30 lbs (14 kg).
  • Pushing/Pulling: Move items in office and shop floor.
  • Sitting: Extended periods at computer.
  • Squatting/Kneeling: Retrieve or replace items on bottom shelves.
  • Standing: Extended periods delivering information.
  • Travel/Mobility: Travel domestically and overseas on short notice; work outside hangars.
  • Walking: Through office, production areas, flight line, and uneven surfaces.
