Job summary

The MIL Corporation seeks an A/V Technician II to support AV/VTC projects at the Lexington Park, MD site. This role works with Lead Technicians and Engineers to gain hands-on experience with audio/visual development technologies and on-site collaboration.

On-site schedule with five days on-site, with potential compressed work schedule. Must obtain Top Secret/SCI clearance; HS/GED required and US citizenship is mandatory. Travel up to CONUS/OCONUS as needed.

Qualifications

• 3-6 years of experience testing/integrating electronics equipment.
• Direct experience with testing, integration, and support of A/V systems.
• Willingness to learn A/V technology areas.
• Ability to follow basic flow diagrams.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Good verbal and written communications abilities.
• Proficiency with MS Office products.
• Must lift items up to NIOSH limits.

• Assist with testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of A/V systems.
• Assist in troubleshooting and diagnosing existing A/V systems.
• Perform inventory management and configuration record keeping.

Job description

The MIL Corporation is looking for an A/V Technician II to support one or more ongoing AV/Video Teleconferencing (VTC) projects for our government customers from our Lexington Park, MD location. The A/V Technician will work with Lead Technicians and Engineers to gain valuable experience in audio/visual (A/V) development technologies.

This position currently requires an on-site schedule with 5 days on-site and is eligible for Compressed Work Schedule (CWS). Schedule is subject to change based on company/contract requirements.

Clearance Required: Ability to Obtain a Top Secret

Education Required: HS/GED

US Citizenship: Required

Responsibilities

• Stage-2 testing of received A/V equipment
• Builds A/V racks based of drawings provided by the engineering team
• Labels communications infrastructure including cable, panels, patch cords and electronics
• Assists tenured technicians with the installation and mounting of equipment, such as monitors, speakers, and microphones, to ceilings and walls in secure spaces
• Assists with the fabrication, termination, and installation of A/V cabling
• Assists with the testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of various A/V systems
• Assists in troubleshooting and diagnosing existing A/V systems
• Performs inventory management and record configuration information on installed equipment and software modules

Travel

Candidates must be willing and able to travel CONUS, and OCONUS sites up to three-four weeks at a time. Total travel up to 50%.

Required Qualifications

• 3-6 years of experience performing testing and/or integration of electronics equipment
• Direct experience with the testing, integration, and support of A/V systems and equipment
• Passion and motivation to learn A/V technology areas
• Ability to follow basic flow diagrams
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Good verbal and written communications abilities
• Experience using MS Office products
• Must be able to lift items up to National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) limits
• Must be able to stand, kneel and/or crouch for extended periods of time
• Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolding
• Must be able to work in high places, as well as small, cramped, or confined spaces
• Must maintain a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Must be able to obtain/maintain a valid passport

Desired Qualifications

• J-STD Certification(s)
• Experience with testing fiber and/or copper
• A/V certifications
• Current Secret or above security clearance

Clearance

Compensation

The SCA (Service Contract Act) role at The MIL Corporation is subject to the regulations and guidelines set forth by the U.S. Department of Labor. As an SCA position, it is classified as a service contract and is subject to specific wage determinations and benefit requirements mandated by the government.

The compensation and benefits for the SCA role at The MIL Corporation will be in accordance with the prevailing wage rates and benefits specified by the Department of Labor for the specific job classification and location. The current rate is $25.72 - $29.57 per hour. Final salary for this position is determined based on factors such as individual qualifications, education, experience, and contractual limitations.
