Job summary

Crutchfield is hiring an A/V Technician Apprentice in Harrisonburg, VA. You will install and configure audio-visual equipment in homes and commercial settings, and gain hands-on training in a structured apprenticeship.

No prior A/V experience is required; paid training lasts 6–12 months, leading to full technician roles. Hours are Monday–Friday, with overtime possible, and a strong benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• Interest or experience installing home A/V products.
• Willingness to build technical knowledge and develop new skills.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to follow instructions clearly and work well as part of a team.
• Ability to identify problems and resolve challenges.
• Ability to use computer and required software.
• Ability to use hand tools.
• Valid Driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• CEDIA, AVIXA, Control4 and Crestron certifications are a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installs and configuration of audiovisual equipment.
• Assist with cable management, routing, and concealment for a clean appearance.
• Learn to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with A/V systems.
• Collaborate with clients to understand installation needs and provide personalized solutions.
• Train clients on the proper use and maintenance of their systems.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies.
