Aviation Institute of Maintenance (AIM) in Charlotte, NC is seeking experienced Aircraft Maintenance Technicians to become instructors. This full-time role delivers FAA Part 147-aligned instruction and provides hands-on training to aspiring AMTs, leveraging real-world aircraft maintenance experience.

No prior teaching experience is required; AIM offers a 5-day paid instructor training program to help you transition to the classroom and make a lasting impact on students pursuing aviation careers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in aviation or related field preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of aircraft maintenance experience.
• Background as an A&P Mechanic, Aircraft Mechanic, or Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT).
• FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Teach aircraft maintenance systems, procedures, and techniques in a hands-on environment.
• Deliver FAA-aligned curriculum to prepare students for A&P certification.
• Demonstrate practical skills used by A&P mechanics and aviation technicians.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress.
• Support curriculum updates and collaborate with program leadership.
• Help create a structured, engaging, and safety-focused learning environment.

About the Role

As an Aircraft Maintenance Instructor (A&P Mechanic Instructor), you will deliver FAA Part 147-aligned aviation maintenance curriculum and provide hands-on instruction to students preparing for careers as aircraft maintenance technicians (AMTs).

This role is ideal for experienced A&P mechanics, aircraft mechanics, and aviation maintenance professionals who want to combine technical expertise with mentorship and training while delivering hands-on aviation maintenance instruction in classroom and active hangar environments.

Schedule Options

• Option 1: Monday - Thursday: 6:30am - 4:30pm
• Option 2: Monday - Thursday: 1:30pm - 11:30pm

Key Responsibilities
