Job description

STS Technical Services is hiring A&P Mechanics to join the team in Pompano Beach, Florida. In this role, you’ll perform maintenance, inspections, and repairs on TBM and Kodiak aircraft at a certified Part 145 Repair Station. Position Overview

As an A&P Mechanic, you’ll be responsible for maintaining airframe, powerplant, and propeller systems in accordance with FAA regulations and manufacturer specifications. You’ll work with a skilled team, interpreting technical data, performing system diagnostics, and ensuring the safe and reliable operation of aircraft fleet.

Key Responsibilities
  • Able to use FAA‑approved data, i.e., IPC, AMM, OHM, CMM, etc., proficiently.
  • Performs airframe, powerplant, and propeller repairs and modifications required to meet company and FAA requirements.
  • Removal and disassembly of defective parts; assembly and installation of replacement parts; and testing aircraft systems.
  • Performs routine inspections and troubleshooting, including airframe structures, engines, and aircraft systems, using approved or accepted data issued by the manufacturer or FAA.
  • Operates all power tools and equipment necessary to accomplish job assignment.
  • Completes all required maintenance records as stated in Repair Station and Quality Control Manuals.
  • Accurately records time worked on aircraft work order.
  • Interprets technical manuals, drawings and blueprints.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills, professionalism, and a positive customer service attitude without compromising quality.
  • Presents a clean and neat work area to customers - facility cleanliness and general housekeeping.
  • Performs other aircraft maintenance work as required.
  • Tows and parks aircraft.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Basic shop upkeep (Sweeping, mopping, cleaning, etc.).
  • Lifting/moving items 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, bend, crouch, kneel, and walk for extended periods.
  • Must be able to climb and work from ladders, work stands, and other heights.
  • Must be able to work with one or both hands extended overhead.
  • The ability to travel as needed.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • Experience with TBM aircraft, preferred.
  • 5+ years of hands‑on aircraft maintenance experience with previous work with single‑engine turboprop aircraft.
  • Familiarity with PT6 engines is a strong advantage.
  • Must have an FAA Airframe & Powerplant certificate.
  • Basic computer skills are required.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand the English language.
  • Must have own tools.
  • Must be eligible to work legally in the US.
  • Valid US Driver’s License.
  • Must be able to pass a pre‑employment drug screen & background check.
