Job summary

SkyWest is hiring an Aircraft Maintenance A&P Mechanic to join a fast-paced team across multiple U.S. locations. You will work on the full aircraft, troubleshoot numerous systems, and ensure safety-critical decisions are made promptly.

This role requires an FAA-certified A&P, strong troubleshooting, and excellent communication. Shift work including nights, weekends, and holidays is expected, with bonuses for certain Milwaukee, ORD, and SLC postings and a military A&P option.

Qualifications

• Meet FAA and safety requirements as referenced in the posting.
• Hold a valid FAA-issued A&P certificate and maintain compliance.
• Demonstrate troubleshooting, communication, and organizational abilities.
• Willingness to work night/third shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Preferred: CRJ and EMB experience and familiarity with manuals.

Responsibilities

• Work on the entire aircraft and troubleshoot a growing fleet of CRJ200, CRJ550, CRJ700, CRJ900, and E175 systems.
• Troubleshoot all aircraft systems to maintain airworthiness and safety.
• Make timely, critical safety decisions when required.
• Receive training to perform maintenance unsupervised at any time.
• Manage documentation and parts paperwork accurately.

Primary Job Duties

• As an A&P mechanic, you will work on the entire aircraft and effectively troubleshoot our growing fleet of CRJ200, CRJ550, CRJ700, CRJ900, and E175 aircraft.
• Troubleshoot all aircraft systems
• Be responsible for making critical decisions regarding aircraft safety in a timely manner
• Be trained to perform all maintenance functions unsupervised, at any time
• Manage all documentation and paperwork, including parts paperwork

Minimum Requirements

• Meet all FAA and Safety Requirements
• Hold a valid FAA-issued A&P Certificate
• Possess good troubleshooting skills
• Possess excellent communication and people skills
• Possess problem-solving and organizational skills
• Be willing to work a night/third shift position, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Exercise good judgment in working with people in a team environment, as well as in aircraft maintenance and safety
• Preferred: CRJ and EMB experience
• Preferred: Be familiar with Company and Manufacturer Manuals

Physical And Other Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Possess a valid, unrestricted driver's license
• Be able to read, write, and understand the English Language
• Be able to comfortably lift 60 lbs. routinely with or without reasonable accommodation
• This is a Department of Transportation safety-sensitive position
