Job summary

Aviation Institute of Maintenance (AIM) is seeking experienced Aircraft Maintenance Technicians to join us as instructors in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ. You will deliver FAA Part 147-aligned curriculum and provide hands-on instruction to future A&P technicians in classroom and active hangar environments.

No prior teaching experience is required; we offer a 5-day paid instructor training program. This part-time role provides flexible day/evening/weekend shifts and competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in aviation preferred.
• Minimum 3 years aircraft maintenance experience.
• FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Teach aircraft maintenance systems and procedures hands-on.
• Deliver FAA-aligned curriculum to prepare students for A&P certification.
• Demonstrate practical skills used by A&P mechanics and aviation techs.
• Maintain attendance, grades, and student progress records.
• Support curriculum updates and collaborate with program leadership.
• Create a structured, engaging, and safety-focused learning environment.
• Maintain classroom, lab equipment, and training materials.
