Job description

STS Line Maintenance is hiring an A&P Line Station Manager in Boise, Idaho, to lead day-to-day operations at our BOI line maintenance station.

This is a working management position for an experienced aviation maintenance professional with strong leadership skills, extensive line maintenance experience and a current FAA Airframe and Powerplant License.

The position pays $90,000 to $100,000 annually based on experience. Performance bonuses are also available.

Position Overview

The A&P Line Station Manager is responsible for managing station operations while remaining actively involved in aircraft maintenance.

This role requires the ability to lead technicians, manage staffing and work schedules, maintain required documentation, support airline customers and perform line maintenance functions independently.

The Station Manager must maintain a strong focus on aircraft safety, maintenance quality, operational performance and effective communication with employees and air carrier partners.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations at the Boise line maintenance station
• Perform line maintenance functions independently as required
• Lead and support aircraft maintenance technicians
• Train and assist technicians with all aspects of their positions
• Create employee work schedules to meet air carrier requirements
• Manage staffing coverage without building unnecessary overtime into schedules
• Input and approve aircraft work orders within the applicable computer system
• Ensure work orders comply with company and air carrier policies
• Complete required quality, safety and maintenance documentation
• Read and interpret company manuals
• Read and understand General Maintenance Manuals
• Read and interpret Aircraft Maintenance Manuals
• Maintain required aircraft qualifications through GENFAM completion and air carrier training
• Support station maintenance and safety requirements
• Exercise sound judgment in aircraft maintenance and team leadership
• Maintain effective communication with technicians, airline customers and other operational personnel
• Manage time effectively while balancing leadership and hands-on maintenance responsibilities
• Work rotating day and night shifts as required
• Work nights, weekends and holidays as operational needs require

Qualifications

• Current and valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant License
• Minimum of five years of aircraft line maintenance experience
• Minimum of three years of management experience
• Ability to read, write and speak English
• Ability to perform line maintenance functions without direct supervision
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong time management skills
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
• Ability to exercise sound judgment in aircraft maintenance and safety
• Experience using Microsoft Excel
• Experience using Microsoft Word
• Experience using Microsoft PowerPoint
• Ability to read and understand company and manufacturer maintenance manuals
• Ability to qualify on aircraft supported at the station through required GENFAM and air carrier training
• Ability to input and approve aircraft work orders in accordance with applicable policies
• Ability to create and manage employee work schedules
• Ability to complete required quality, safety and maintenance documentation
• Must own and provide a minimum set of required hand tools
• Valid driver's license
• Clean motor vehicle record
• Ability to successfully complete required background screening
• Ability to obtain all required airport and station badging

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with the KRONOS timekeeping system

Physical Requirements

• Ability to ascend and descend ladders, stairs and work stands without assistance
• Ability to frequently bend, kneel, crawl and stoop in confined spaces
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance
• Ability to work in changing climate conditions
• Ability to work in environments with moderate noise levels

Compensation

Annual salary ranges from $90,000 to $100,000 based on previous experience.

Performance bonuses are also available.
