Job summary

Amentum is seeking an Aircraft Sheetmetal Mechanic I to fabricate, install and maintain aircraft sheet-metal components. You will read work requests, develop layouts, cut, form and assemble parts per specifications, and secure items with rivets and bolts.

The role requires a valid A&P license or equivalent experience, with several years in aviation maintenance and sheetmetal; incumbents must be able to operate in confined spaces and obtain facility credentials, with US citizenship required for

Qualifications

Valid up-to-date A&P license.
If no A&P license, 3 years aviation maintenance experience, 2 years rotary wing, 2 years on the assigned MDS (Sheetmetal).
All experience must be within the six most recent years.
Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials; US Citizenship is required for credentials at the work location.
Tools are required; must possess own shadowed/etched tools & toolbox.

Responsibilities

Read and analyzes work request and applicable specifications or similar data.
Develop and draw working sketches showing view, section, or profile.
Manufactures and fabricates aircraft sheet metal parts from various serviced aircraft.
Develops parts and templates from prints or original parts to produce repair parts.
Lays out, cuts, forms, joins, assembles and installs items.
Finish and smooth edges of metal sheet and assemble with rivets, screws and bolts.
