Job summary

CompHealth seeks locum tenens surgeons for assignments in North Carolina. This on-site role includes on-call coverage with inpatient rounds across general and specialized surgery settings.

Expect fast-paced days with multi-disciplinary collaboration; housing and travel are arranged, and comprehensive malpractice coverage is provided to support your assignments and credentialing process. Ideal candidates have laparoscopic, breast, vascular, and GI endoscopy skills, plus pediatric surgery or

Qualifications

• Board-certified or eligible in surgery with experience in laparoscopic procedures.
• Experience in breast, vascular and plastic surgery is required.
• GI endoscopy experience including colonoscopy and sigmoidoscopy desired.
• Pediatric surgery and trauma experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide call-only coverage with on-call rounding in an inpatient hospital.
• Average 4 phone consults, 4 patient visits, 4 admissions per 24 hours.
• Coordinate with hospital teams and ensure credentialing is smooth.
• We arrange housing, travel, and malpractice coverage for assignments.

• Call only coverage -- on-call responsibilities with rounding
• Avg per 24-hr call: 4 phone consults, 4 patients seen, 4 admissions
• Inpatient hospital setting
• Call coverage for unassigned patients
• Laparoscopic surgery skills required -- appy, cholecystectomy, hernioplasty
• Breast surgery, vascular surgery, and plastic surgery skills required
• GI endoscopy required -- upper, lower, sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy
• Pediatric surgery and trauma experience preferred
