Job summary

Torch Technologies seeks a Model Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) to support the Missile Defense Agency programs from Huntsville, AL. The role focuses on developing descriptive system models using SysML and ensuring traceability of requirements to architecture artifacts.

You will contribute to digital engineering initiatives, participate in milestone reviews, and collaborate with teams to manage interfaces and data across the program. U.S. citizenship and an active clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years supporting missile defense or large-scale DoD programs preferred.
• Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain one.

• Requirements Traceability: Map system-level and component-level requirements to architecture artifacts.
• Digital Engineering Integration: Support MDA Digital Engineering initiatives.
• Technical Baseline Reviews: Assist in preparing and presenting model-centric artifacts for milestone reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, CCBs).
• Interface & Trade Studies: Conduct architectural trade studies and analyze interface definition documents.
• Configuration & Data Management: Maintain version control and compliance for SysML models.

Torch Technologies is seeking a Model Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) to join a team supporting the Targets and Countermeasures program office of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). This position supports the Targets and Countermeasures program office.

Responsibilities

• System Modeling & Architecture: Develop and maintain descriptive system models using SysML.
• Requirements Traceability: Map system-level and component-level requirements directly to architecture artifacts.
• Digital Engineering Integration: Support MDA Digital Engineering initiatives.
• Technical Baseline Reviews: Assist in preparing and presenting model-centric artifacts for milestone reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, CCBs).
• Interface & Trade Studies: Conduct architectural trade studies and analyze interface definition documents.
• Configuration & Data Management: Maintain version control and compliance for SysML models.

Required Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field or equivalent experience
• 5+ years supporting missile defense or large-scale DoD programs
• Active Secret clearance
• Demonstrated proficiency with SysML and core systems engineering frameworks (DoDAF, UAF)
• Hands‑on experience with MBSE tools such as Cameo Enterprise Architect, MagicDraw, and Sparx Enterprise Architect

Preferred Qualifications

• 7+ years related experience.
• Experience supporting missile defense or other complex DoD systems
• Experience with digital engineering environments
• Experience conducting interface analyses or trade studies
• Experience supporting MDA programs (Targets and Countermeasures, Ground‑Based Midcourse Defense, THAAD, Aegis BMD, or C2BMC)
• OMG‑Certified Systems Modeling Professional (OCSMP) certification (Fundamental, Intermediate, or Advanced)
• Working knowledge of requirement management tools (DOORS, Cameo Requirements Plugin) and issue‑tracking platforms (Jira, Confluence)
• Experience integrating MBSE models with analytical/simulation environments (MATLAB/Simulink, Python, OpenMBEE)
• Familiarity with DoD Systems Engineering processes, CDRLs, and technical baseline governance
• Preferred Majors: Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, STEM
