Job summary

Austal USA in National City, CA is seeking an experienced Outside Machinist to join a team servicing shipboard equipment. You will install, disassemble, fault-find and repair machinery, ensuring close tolerances and alignment while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in the trade or 2 years in shipbuilding or apprenticeship-equivalent education.
• Knowledge of shaft alignment techniques including laser alignment and dial indicators.
• Knowledge of machining procedures.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.

• Ability to safely operate fixed and non-fixed machinery.
