The DC Army National Guard is seeking a Small Arms/Artillery Repairer to maintain electronic systems for the weapons used on the battlefield. This is a training-focused role with Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training to develop core Soldiering and repair skills.

You will learn to work with electronic, electrical and mechanical test equipment and gain a path to civilian careers as an electronic mechanic, avionics technician, or missile facilities repairer while earning a regular

Soldiers rely on their weapons to reign supreme on the battlefield. Working with everything from handguns and shotguns, to sniper rifles and ballistic missiles, the Small Arms/Artillery Repairer’s main responsibility is to maintain the electronic systems that keep these weapons firing for the Army National Guard.

Through your training, you will develop the skills and experience to enjoy a civilian career as an electronic mechanic, an avionics technician, or a missile facilities repairer with firms that design, build, and test weapons for the military.

Job training for Small Arms/Artillery Repairers consists of 10 weeks of Basic Training, where you'll learn basic Soldiering skills, and 7 weeks of Advanced Individual Training. Training consists of both classroom and field work.

Requirements

• Military enlistment in the Army National Guard
• Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or a GED certificate
• Must be between the ages of 17 and 35
• Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards
