Overview
We are seeking a Produce Supervisor. 99 Ranch Market is one of the largest Asian supermarket chains in the United States. We have store locations in California, Nevada, Texas, Washington, Oregon, Maryland, Massachusetts, Virginia, New Jersey, and more to come. Responsibilities
- Overall Department Operation – Supervise the operation of the Produce department, including product preparation, product display, material distribution, and inventory control to increase product exposure and process efficiency for higher sales.
- Customer Service – Ensure department team members provide excellent customer service, identify issues early and propose action plans on an ongoing basis, and encourage and respond to customer suggestions and complaints to optimize service.
- PI Count & System Usage – Use the company system to track product sales and inventory, ensure accurate inventory numbers, and efficiently conduct the monthly physical inventory count.
- Omni & HQ Support – Assist in supervising and performing Omni channel services and initiatives and all accounting, administrative, maintenance, and marketing duties, including identifying efficient weekly marketing plans by utilizing all resources to maximize sales.
- Ordering & Receiving – Place reasonable product orders according to the company’s orders, schedules, and deadlines, and check product quality and quantity when receiving.
- Stocking & Processing – Distribute, refill, and rotate deliveries and stock using FIFO methods to meet customer needs and manage trimming, packing, and labeling to reflect accurate pricing information.
- Display – Supervise attractive product displays and signage to showcase freshness and quality, create and distribute promotional materials, and ensure shelf tags are labeled correctly to drive sales and marketing initiatives.
- Compliance, Loss Prevention, & Reporting – Monitor and safeguard all store department assets, report accidents and other incidents, and report them to the Department Manager.
- Safety – Maintain a safe and sanitary working environment and comply with procedures and safety codes to meet federal, state, and local regulations.
- Maintenance – Maintain and clean equipment, monitor temperature, coordinate maintenance, and keep logs according to company policies and health regulations.
- Sustainability – Manage expiration dates to remove expired products and reorder as needed to meet customer demand.
- Promotion & Demo – Plan promotion events, prepare appropriate product quantities, set reasonable prices, and arrange demos as necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- 1 year of clerical experience in the produce department or equivalent is required.
- Bilingual in English/Mandarin, English/Cantonese, or English/Spanish is preferred.
- Ability to work assigned schedules, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- Currently possess or have the ability to possess a Food Handler’s certificate.

Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking are required.
- Ability to use manual dexterity to grasp, manipulate, and assemble objects.
- Ability to work in an environment that may be wet and dry and with varying temperatures and noises.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at times or more with appropriate equipment.
- Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodations.

Salary
$19-$20 per hour during training period. After the employee passes the final assessment, they will be promoted from hourly employee to exempt employee. This is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
