Job summary

JS Wilson Middle is seeking an 8th Grade Girls Volleyball - Head Coach for the 2026/2027 school year. The stipend is $1,525.75, with responsibilities including designing practices, supervising meets, and promoting sportsmanship and academics among student athletes.

The role requires coaching experience, a teaching certificate and CPR certification preferred, plus the ability to develop players and communicate effectively with families and staff.

Qualifications

• Teaching certificate preferred.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Minimum two years track & field participation or coaching experience preferred.
• Experience with successful winning program coaching experience preferred.
• Ability and evidence of being able to transition student athletes to the next competitive level.
• Experience in teaching both fundamentals and higher level technical skills.
• Strong understanding of all levels of track program opportunities.
• Demonstration of strong knowledge of all sport related rules that pertain to safety and welfare of the student athlete.

Responsibilities

• Instruct athletes in the fundamentals, the rules of the sport, proper training techniques and safety procedures.
• Design and supervise all practices and meets.
• Strong organization and management of the entire track program.
• Promote good human relations within student body, parents, faculty, and community.
• Promote a high academic standard and establish academic supports for student athletes.
• Plan comprehensive pre-season and post-season conditioning programs.
• Willingness to take leadership role to promote high ideals of sportsmanship and positive role modeling.
• Establish and communicate discipline policies and academic requirements per district.
• Develop each team member to their skill potential.
• Promote effective communication with student athletes, parents, administration, and staff.
• Promote a team concept and positive sportsmanship at all program levels.
• Effective, positive and responsible communication to students, parents, and media.
• Willingness to commit time in off-season and regular season to improve the program.
• Follow board policies and monitor coaching staff and facilities.
