Apave America Inc. is seeking an entry level NDT/RT Assistant for a full-time position on a client site in the Wood River, IL area.
You will assist certified technicians, set up testing equipment, and learn NDT methods while gaining hands-on experience in UT, RT, MT, and PT. You will work outdoors in an industrial setting, follow safety protocols, complete required training, and pursue growth toward becoming a Certified Technician.
Apave America Inc. is currently seeking to train and employ full-time, entry level NDT/RT Assistants for nested positions within a client site located in the Wood River, IL area.
As an entry level NDT/RT Assistant your roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Working outside in an industrial setting with qualified and certified individuals for non-destructive testing and maintenance while maintaining the policies and procedures set forth by Apave America Inc. and the client for safety, quality and production. The NDT/RT Assistant will perform non-destructive testing of materials while training to become a Certified Technician. Possession of a TWIC Card may be required.

The NDT Assistant Technician, (or Non-Destructive Testing Assistant), will primarily assist a certified NDT Technician by setting up and operating testing equipment, preparing test areas, performing basic inspections, interpreting initial test results under supervision, maintaining documentation, and ensuring safety protocols are followed during non-destructive testing procedures on materials and structures, all while learning the fundamentals of various NDT methods like Ultrasonic Thickness Testing (UTT), Radiographic Testing (RT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), and Penetrant Testing (PT).
Equipment Setup and Calibration: Set up and calibrate NDT equipment according to established procedures, under the supervision of a Certified Technician.
With experience and further training, the NDT Assistant Technician will have the opportunity to progress into becoming a fully certified NDT Level II Technician, allowing them to perform inspections independently and interpret results with greater autonomy.
