Penn Hills Charter School of Entrepreneurship is seeking a Classroom Teacher to implement instructional programs and guide students toward academic success.

The role requires a PA teaching certificate (4–8 or 7–12) and a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Education. Schedule is 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday–Friday, with ongoing professional development opportunities.

• Active PA teaching certification in grades 4-8 or 7-12 is required.
• Business, Computer, and Information Technology preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of the Pennsylvania State Standards and Common Core.
• 3 years experience in teaching a non-basal curriculum.

Responsabilidades

• Collaborate with staff on intervention plans and instructional strategies.
• Organize learning space and employ varied teaching strategies.
• Participate in planning, meetings, and professional development.

Instructional Responsibilities

• Strong understanding and implementation of Pennsylvania State Standards
• Provide direct instruction to students
• Uses identified needs (based on data and observations) to guide the learning process toward student achievement
• Utilize Pennsylvania Value-Added Assessment System (PVAAS) projection data in conjunction with achievement data to ensure that students are on a path to proficiency and beyond
• Response to differentiation, and the implementation of accommodations, modifications and interventions that enable students to be successful in all academic content standards
• Support student entrepreneurial endeavors as part of PHCSE Microsociety and Entrepreneurship curricula
• Design coherent instruction and student assessments
• Apply the rigor of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics content and the STEM Standards of Practice

Classroom Responsibilities

• Classroom management utilizing a school wide positive behavior support model
• Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct, and, for the classroom, develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
• Conducts student assessments to identify those eligible for intervention services, to plan instruction, and/or to assist staff members in learning various assessment techniques. Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required. Collaborates, as needed, with appropriate district/campus personnel regarding students who may need specialized interventions.
• Problem solve to identify innovative, practical, and effective differentiation strategies to meet student learning needs
• Support the school-wide House System
• Follows and implements intervention plans or processes to provide service and support to students to meet school goals or intervention plan goals
• Assists Special Education Department with maintaining organization of special education files and student learning records
• Organize physical space that is conducive to learning
• Interdisciplinary approach to instruction
• Use of varied teaching strategies
• Use of questioning and discussion techniques

Meetings & Professional Development

• Team planning of unit lessons and grade level curriculum
• Periodic meetings with Academic Coaches regarding scope and sequence and lesson planning
• Conducts or participates in parent conferences, telephone conferences, and other forms of professional communication
• Commitment to professional development to keep up-to-date on curriculum developments and trends in the field of education
• Commitment to professional growth through participation in professional learning communities and development opportunities; after hours and weekends
• Attend mandatory school events at the discretion of the employee’s supervisor
• Attend at least one Board Meeting per school year.
• Active certifications which include Google certification, Act 48 continuing education, and relevant certifications per administration

All other duties as required by supervisor

Career Progression and Compensation Placement

Penn Hills Charter School of Entrepreneurship is committed to providing clear pathways for professional growth and advancement. Classroom teachers are placed within one of four career levels based on experience and qualifications:

• Classroom Teacher I - Up to 3 years of teaching experience
• Classroom Teacher II - Minimum 4 years of teaching experience
• Classroom Teacher III - Minimum 7 years of service at PHCSE or 10 years of external teaching experience
• Classroom Teacher IV - Minimum 10 years of service at PHCSE

Advancement through the career ladder recognizes increased experience, institutional knowledge, instructional expertise, leadership, and contributions to student success. Compensation ranges associated with each level are maintained separately and are reviewed periodically by the school.
