Job summary

Northeast Academy for Aerospace & Advanced Technologies in Elizabeth City, NC is seeking a 6th Grade Math Teacher to engage middle school students in a STEM–rich learning environment where curiosity is celebrated.

The role emphasizes hands-on, project- and problem-based instruction, collaboration with a supportive team, and ongoing professional growth to prepare students for college, careers, and lifelong learning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or related field; Master's preferred.
• Minimum of three years experience as a middle or high school teacher preferred.
• NC Professional Educator's License preferred, but not required; Must be eligible to obtain license within 3 years
• Commitment to serve the needs of students and families who are first generation college-goers and those underrepresented in STEM

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver rigorous engaging lessons.
• Engage all students using project-based format.
• Lead students to develop soft skills like critical thinking and collaboration.
• Utilize technology to facilitate instruction.
• Assess student progress toward goals.
• Identify resources to meet diverse needs.
• Advise students in the Advisory Program.
• Promote high expectations for success beyond high school.
• Communicate progress to students, parents, and colleagues.
• Foster family involvement and community partnerships.

Education
