Job summary

CST-Mechanical in Hampton, VA seeks a Pipe Welder to join a hands-on fabrication team. You will read drawings and welding symbols, set up and operate welding equipment, and assemble piping systems from ½" to 2" in carbon or stainless steel, ensuring proper penetration and alignment.

This role requires 4+ years of welding experience, 6G certification, and OSHA 10, with occasional night/weekend shifts. We value reliability, safety, and teamwork as you contribute to project success and support

Qualifications

• Ability to read drawings, welding symbols, and instructions.
• Proficiency in GMAW, GTAW and SMAW welding processes.
• Experience with piping fabrication and assembly.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret drawings, welding symbols, and specs.
• Set up and operate welding equipment for GMAW, GTAW, SMAW.
• Adjust current, gas pressures, and regulate controls.
• Assemble piping systems from ½" to 2" carbon or stainless steel.
• Fabricate supports and minor piping structures.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and report defects.
• Work nights and weekends as required.
