Job summary

Inteplast Group Corporation is seeking a Senior Electric Technician to monitor and maintain extrusion and press equipment, troubleshoot issues, and support operators in daily production. The role emphasizes safety, adherence to plant rules, and hands-on electrical/mechanical diagnostics.

The technician will learn extrusion processes, interpret schematics, program drives/PLC, and perform preventative maintenance across manufacturing equipment, including motors, sensors and control systems.

6501 - Maintenance - ELT2 - SR. 2 ELECTRIC TECHNICIAN

POSITION OBJECTIVE: This person is heavily involved in the monitoring of equipment and will play a role in the preventative maintenance. This individual will work with the extrusion and press Operators to learn the process of operating an extrusion line. On a daily basis, must be able to effectively communicate (orally and written) with employees and other departmental personnel. Must troubleshoot equipment/process problems in manufacturing to provide additional level of technical support.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3-5 years experience in the troubleshooting and maintenance of industrial equipment and machinery.
• Electrical experience is preferred.
• Experienced with interpreting electrical schematics and drawings efficiently.
• Capable of programming drives and understand PLC logic.
• Basic welding and machining skills are a plus.
• Intermediate knowledge of standard software (MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to multi-task.
• Willing to adhere to all plant safety rules and promote an environment where safety is first.
• Proactive in addressing safety issues and concerns.
• Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
• Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Must observe all safety precautions and regulations at all times in all areas where duties are performed. Will be responsible for reporting all safety hazards and potential unsafe working conditions.
• Must actively participate in safety meetings.
• Must understand and comply with all current plant policies and procedures.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical/mechanical equipment failures.
• Interpret electrical schematics and drawings efficiently.
• Capable of programming drives and understand PLC Logic.
• Work with the Operators to learn the processes associated with operating an extruder and printing press.
• Perform preventative maintenance on all manufacturing equipment.
• Perform maintenance tasks, i.e. replacing electrical switches, current & voltage meters, replacing AC & DC motors, heater bands, temp controllers, thermocouples, solenoids, counters, and Vector drives.
• Monitor the chillers and air compressors.
• Other duties as assigned with or without accommodation.

TRAINING:

The Electric Technician will be trained on safety, paperwork, machine operation, materials knowledge and housekeeping. The Electric Technician will need to learn the process of troubleshooting and repair of various equipment including extruders, printing presses, bag machines, separators, and other equipment used in the production of polyethylene blown film products.
