Position Details

Position: School Counselor (Guidance Services – Elementary School). Grade Levels: K–5. School Year: 2026-2027. Start Date: August 3, 2026. Location: Stanley Switlik Elementary School, 3400 Overseas Highway, Marathon, FL 33050. Schedule: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary: Base salary ranges from $62,700 to $104,700, commensurate with experience. Detailed compensation information is available in the Instructional Salary Placement Guide for the 2025-2026 school year.

Eligibility and Certification

Florida certification is required for School Counseling (grades PK‑12). Eligibility includes:

• Out-of-state certification: If you hold an unexpired, out-of-state, professional educator certificate in this subject area, please apply for Florida reciprocity.
• Master's degree in School Counseling: Commonly accepted Master’s degrees (or higher) in School Guidance and Counseling, School Counseling, and School Guidance qualify for a Florida temporary educator certificate.
