Venture Community Services Inc. is seeking a Direct Support Professional to empower adults with disabilities. The DSP supports daily living tasks, accompanies to appointments, and helps individuals participate actively in the community.

Schedule varies; new pay rate is $17.50–$19.00 per hour with paid training. A sign-on bonus applies: $1000 for Full Time and $500 for Part Time employees. Opportunities for growth and ongoing training are provided.

Responsabilidades

• Advocate for and support adults 22+ with intellectual/developmental disabilities to be as active as possible in daily life.
• Assist with household tasks, meal prep, shopping, grooming and personal care as needed.
• Accompany individuals to medical appointments, banking and community activities; follow Behavior Support Plans and Individual Support Plans.

Direct Support Professional – Sign on Bonus! New Pay Rate! Paid Training!

Schedule: Wed 3p-11p, Thu 2p-11p, Fri 2p-11p, Sat 9a-4p, Sat 4p-11p

Part Time: 40 hours

Pay rate: $17.50 - 19.00 per hour – Paid training provided by Venture!

Sign On Bonus: $1000 for Full Time and $500 for Part Time employees

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible for advocating and supporting adults 22 and over with intellectual and developmental disabilities by empowering them to be as active in their lives as they can. Their support needs include, but are not limited to, household maintenance, meal prep, shopping, bathing, toileting, dressing, teeth brushing, etc…so that they may always look and feel their best. The DSP may be asked to assist them to their medical appointments, banking, assist them to become active members of their community, attend outings, administer medications, follow Behavior Support Plans, Individual Support Plans and goals, and to follow medical guidelines that are in place.

DSP workers are provided paid New Employee Orientation, paid CPR/First Aid, PABC, Defensive Driving, and Medication Administration Program (MAP), as well as program and person specific training at the individuals’ home. The DSP must be able to safely evacuate individuals from the home in the event of an emergency.

DSP workers must maintain certifications, handle job related duties in compliance with Agency policies and follow all DDS regulations/policies.

Requirements

• High School Degree or G.E.D.
• Must be 21+ years old, have a valid driver’s license, daily use of a car on site (preferred but not required) and be available by telephone for daily contact.
