Job Summary

The CTE Teacher will plan, organize, and implement an instructional program that guides and encourages students to develop and meet their academic potential. The teacher will follow all Board policies and procedures and comply with instructions from supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Teach the North Carolina Standard Course of Study/Common Core.
• Develop and use instructional materials suitable for verbal and visual instruction of students with diverse mental, physical, and emotional maturity.
• Provide individual and group instruction designed to meet individual needs.
• Maintain standards of student control to achieve effective participation in all activities.
• Assess academic and social growth of students.
• Maintain appropriate records.
• Provide instruction and activities for students to meet school/district policies, goals, and objectives.
• Communicate with parents and hold parent conferences to discuss student progress and school initiatives.
• Create an effective learning environment.
• Maintain professional competence through in‑service professional growth activities and university courses.
• Cooperate with administrators to develop evaluation methods aligned with district guidelines.
• Select instructional materials.
• Supervise students during class and out‑of‑class activities.
• Participate in faculty and district committees.
• Engage in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs).
• Integrate technology into lessons.

Minimum Education, Experience and Requirements

• Minimum bachelor’s degree from an approved education program in the subject area.
• State teaching license in North Carolina or qualifications to obtain one.

Compensation & Start Date

Salary based on State and Local salary schedule. Starting Date: August 10, 2026. Status: 10 months.
