Nebraska Medicine in Omaha, NE is seeking a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) to join a 40-bed medical-surgical unit on third shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM). This role provides a solid foundation to grow your nursing career while assisting a diverse patient population.

You will support licensed nurses with delegated patient activities, communicate effectively, and contribute to a collaborative, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 16 years.
• Certified Nursing Assistant certification in Nebraska required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire from an AHA-endorsed program.
• Effective communication skills required.
• Knowledge of computer data entry and word processing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform delegated patient activities as assigned by licensed nursing personnel for the achievement of the patient’s plan of care.
• Support nursing team in med-surg unit routines while ensuring patient safety and comfort.

The CNA in this role would be working on a 40-bed med-surg unit that is a great foundation from which to start and grow your nursing career. The unit cares for a wide variety of patients, allowing nurses to work with different patient populations and get a feel for what they like. They gain experience in titratable drips, chest tubes, tracheostomies, wound cares, high-oxygen delivery systems, and end-of-life care.
